OBE Experience and Revelation

To give a little background info about myself and OBEing:
- When I first came to the forum I tried to OBE about three times in four months. It wasn't the best practice schedule but it still discouraged me from continuing to practice OBEing so I stopped and decided to concentrate on telepathy.

So now that I've provided a bit of background information, you can get a better glimpse into my point of view about OBEing and make better sense of my latest experience (which happened last night....or rather this morning.)

Last night, as I was trying to fall asleep I began to feel these strange physical sensations. I am not a stranger to these weird sensations and I always thought them to be a heightened sense of blood pressure in the body. I never really paid too much attention to the feelings, but this morning the word VIBRATIONS popped into my head and I made the connection; I was experiencing the vibrations people describe before they OBE. This excited me because for the first time it seemed truly possible for me to experience an OBE. (I realized why I never made the connection before; the sensation always felt more like a pulsation rather than a vibration, but whatever you want to call it is fine with me, they both point to the same thing.)

Now that I have made the connection I decided to look into OBE's a little deeper. I tried to recall ANY information I remember learning about lucid dreams and tried to make certain connections. One piece of information that caught my attention was the term REM Motor Atonia (a term I learned randomly in Zoo class. You can find a more thorough definition at www.sleepnet.com and search their search engine.) REM Motor Atonia is when your body disconnects your motor neurons to your consciousness keeping you from acting out your dreams. (On a side note if you're wondering about sleepwalking and it's connection to REM Motor Atonia, sleepwalking ONLY occurs during while you're in a deep Non-REM sleep. If you would like to know more about sleep cycles, go to the National Sleeping Foundation; www.sleepfoundation.org.)
So lucid dreaming is where you are consciousness during REM sleep ---> the cycle where your dreams occur in. During the REM cycle breathing becomes irregular and shallow; eyes move in various directions; if conscious, one will experience temporary paralysis due to REM Motor Atonia.

With these connections, one doesn't necessarily have to put the body to sleep in the way in which it is explained in the articles on the main site. Instead just try to induce REM sleep by causing REM Motor Atonia to occur on command. This would of course require some skill in DMILS, but you can develop your skill with practice. If you don't know what DMILS is you can find out more by clicking this google link: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=DMILS+&btnG=Search.
I truly believe that the subconscious knows exactly how to acquire and use psionic skills but I do also firmly believe that you can acquire these skills quicker if you understand what is going on at a conscious level.

So hopefully these connections will help you improve your skill quicker and understand what is happening better. If you think my thought process and connections are faulty, just say so and we'll talk about it. Other than that I want to know if this helps people understand OBEing better, because I know for sure it has helped me.

To go back to that night, I never had an OBE, but I am sure that if I continue to explore OBE's in this kind of sense, it's just a matter of time before I have my first experience.

Comment the article and tell me what you think about this.

Telepathic Suggestion Ethics

As you may already know, telepathic suggestion is when you telepathically suggest to someone else a thought, command or emotion. Basically, you are influencing them to do what you want whether it is beneficial for you, for them, or for someone else.

On PsiPog, there are has been much debate about the ethics surround TPS; should you use this ability, should you not use this ability. It's a very difficult issue to discuss because there are so many different angles and spins you can put on this and it's very hard to come to a general concensus.

As for myself, when you use telepathic suggestions, I believe you are taking that person's freedom to think and make decisions on their own. You are manipulating them to do something without their consent. (There may be incidents where it was with their consent, but I will go into that later.) I believe that NO ONE has the right to take that inalienable from ANYONE, unless they got consensus from the person.

I do believe there are times when people forfeit this inalienable right though. If there was someone that wished to do harm to me in ANYWAY, rape, assault, murder, and other negative things, I believe that I have the right to protect myself from any negative onslaughts from others. I would not just sit there and let mess with me like that and I don't expect anyone to let that happen to themselves either. No one has the right to do me harm, unless of course I did something harmful to them.

Now here's a spin on the discussion. What if someone came up to you and said they don't like a certain part of their personality and they want to change it but have gotten no success. You tell them you can help them by telepathically suggesting the change they want. They say yes and this equals consent. So I think in this particular situation since they are willing giving up their freedom of choice (in a sense), telepathic suggestion would be an appropriate step to take. If the telepath overexceeded their mandate and decided to mess with the person a little bit is UNACCEPTABLE. Overexceeding what the person allowed is violating their right of freedom of choice and is obviously unacceptable.

Visualization

"Meditation can renew both mind and body. By Pacifying stress that is based upon projection, true relaxation can be attained. What spring forth will be in accordance with your real needs."
-I Ching no. 52

So you want to practice psi? Well in order to be successful you need VISUALIZATION. As said by Jerry Lynch, "Visualization is an active form of meditation in which you relax and choose to view images in your mind's eye that will influence your emotions and energy." (Thinking Body Dancing Mind, pg 16)What does this mean? It means, the more you visualize a positive, or negative outcome, of a practice session the more in that direction you will go. So if you visualize yourself being able to move the psiwheel in complete control and continue to visualize this outcome for some time, eventually you will be able to move the psiwheel the way you want to.

Visualization is not just important when practicing Psychokinesis, it is also important when practicing energy manipulation as well. Let's say you want to make a psi-cube. Well what do you do? You sit down in a comfortable position, relax, and imagine the psi energy flowing to your hands and taking the shape of a cube. The more your practice this visualization the quicker and easier it will become to execute.

In order to be successful you need to keep the images positive. If suddenly you visualize yourself doing something that's not positive and losing confidence in yourself, just gently remind yourself that others before you have done what you are trying to do and since you and that you have the same power to do what they can do.

Many famous athletes have used visualization to help them succeed; Jack Nicklaus, Mary Lou Retton, Elizabeth Manley, Sue Holloway. That doesn't mean you can't use the same method they do. Make the situation advantageous for yourself; visualize.

Here's a quick run through of what a visualization session can be like.

In order to relax, we will be concentrating on deep abdominal breathing. It's very simple. You breath through your and not through your mouth. Breath slowly and deeply and pay attention to your chest and abdomen and it moves with your breathing. Remember to not breathe forcefully because this may cause you to hyperventilate (not to mention you may relaxation).

Breathe deeply for five counts and feel yourself relax and focus. After you have breathed five times, begin visualizing what you want to accomplish. Spend as much time as you want for this part. You can spend five to 60 minutes if you want. It doesn't matter.

Make sure that as soon as you are done visualizing, you do not want to abruptly snap out of this relaxing meditative state. Breathe deeply for five counts again and then slowly bring yourself back.

The key to visualization is being calm, passive and relaxed while visualizing. This will bring about the best most effective results because in a calm relaxed state you have more focus. You need to try and put fourth as much energy as you can to staying focused to your visualization. This technique will become easier for you when you practice, so make sure you try to practice visualizing as often as you have skill sessions.

Hope this helps. If you need help or just want to give me feedback, just leave a comment or email me.

I've started a 'Noob to Psionics' article

It seems to me that a lot of noobs don't have much direction when it comes to psionics. They don't know how to practice and what they want. I figured I would make a guide to help them organize their thoughts and help them become good psions.

I've written about a page or two already. I'll post what I have so far. I haven't revised what I have done yet, so don't shoot me if I've missed something or made a mistake. If you do see something though, don't be afraid to say so.

Here goes:

Psionics. Where to begin?

So you have decided you want to practice psi and don’t know where to begin. When for most noobs if they aren’t shown any kind of direction they can get flustered with what to do and how to do it. There are many different skills that you can learn and many different approaches to learning them. Most people are usually attracted to psionics because of psychokinesis, but I’m going to keep this guide a general one.

Before we even begin to learn psionics, you NEED to understand that if you want to progress and become a skilled psion you need to be determined. The only way to get better is to PRACTICE. There are no shortcuts, no special elixirs that will give you more power, etc. I cannot stress this enough.

Now that I’ve said this, you need to ask yourself this question ‘Why do I want to learn psionics?’ You have to be honest with yourself when you ask this question. I think the best reason to study psionics is because you want to learn more about yourself. With this kind of mindset I have noticed that your chances of succeeding are better because your intentions are pure.

Another important question you need to ask yourself another question, ‘What do you want out of psionics?’ ‘Do you want to become a master of your trade?’ ‘Do you just want to know enough so you can show off to your buddies?’ This shouldn’t be a difficult question to answer, but some really don’t know what they want. If you don’t know what you want, ask yourself if you are willing to put the time and the effort into what you are doing. If you find that you will not be dedicated enough to accomplish your wants then practicing psionics is NOT for you. I don’t mean any offense, but like I said in the end dabbling into psionics is serious and you can hurt yourself and/or others. You need to be willing to do the research, practice, and learn your limitations. Learning psionics isn’t a walk in the park. It’s tough and it will challenge you.

Now that we have that taken care of here is a list of different abilities you can learn:
Psi manipulation (psi balls, constructs, shields, etc.)
Remote Viewing
Telepathy/Empathy
Precognition
Out of Body Experiences
Psychokinesis

You don’t have to just choose one skill and only do that skill; you can do as many as you want. I think that it’s best to dabble with all the different skills because then you’ll understand the big picture better rather than just getting one perspective. Hopefully you know what I mean by that.

Before starting your training, there are a few prerequisites/skills that should be learned before practicing psi. Granted, once you begin practicing you will eventually learn these skills, but it’s best to learn them before because they help quicken your progress and you learn the skill(s) on a 'deeper' level (which in the end should be your goal.). You also lower the risk of injury while training because through these prerequisites you will learn your limitations and how to overcome them safely and intelligently. You have to learn what to do that is best for you or else you can seriously injure yourself.

It’s like going out for a sport. Let’s say you want to start playing tennis. Before you start playing you begin to train your body physically by doing light warm-ups and then gradually making the warm-ups harder. By not warming-up, you run the risk of injuring yourself very badly and serious injuries can cripple your chances of playing that sport for the rest of your life.

Here is a list of skills in order of which ones should be learnt first:

(Note #1: There are many different opinions on what should be learned first, but through research and experience this is what I strongly feel should be taught.
Note #2: When beginning to learn these skills one can usually learn others in the process. For example, let’s say you are learning to meditate, well in order to meditate you must also learn patience. All these skills coincide with each other, so if you are learning one skill, you may find you are also learning another at the same time.)

Disciplines
Skills
1. Determination/Persistence
1. Meditation
2. Discipline
2. Relaxation/Centering
3. Patience
3. Shutting Down
4. Concentration/Focus
4. Grounding
5. Positivism

6. Passivity/Flexibility

So why do I need to learn all of this before I start practicing? Well in order to answer this question you will answer questions to a survey that will tell you why you really want to learn psionics. Please take your time when answering these questions because it’s very important that you are honest with yourself in order to find out the real reason(s) as to why you would like to practice psionics and what are you willing to do in order to be the best psion you can be.

-------And that's where the article ends. Suggestions? Criticisms?

Ugh

God I need to post more often. I've been writing a bit...so I'll post some of what I've been writing and what information I've been gathering.

"Imagine yourself meditating and suddenly something explodes in front of your window. In that same moment your realization is over. You get up and look to see what's going on. It happened because the energy provided by the explosion was stronger than the energy invested in your meditation."
-Not_Important.

"Changingsomething within the external world always begins by first changing something within oneself.

So there's the lesson of the day. Think. Ponder. I've learned a lot from these quotes and hopefully this helps you guys.

OU

Well finally the anxiety has left. I'll be going to the University of Oklahoma in the fall. I'm excited, but bumbed at the same time. I don't wanna go all that way from Chicago, but at least I'm going to a university. Not like I didn't get into any others, but eh whatever.
I know people always tell me that the friends from college are always the ones you stay in touch w/ the rest of your life, but there are friends from high school I can't imagine ever NOT talking to. So I'm worried we'll slowly separate. Know what I mean?
I'm gonna work really hard to not let that happen though. Lol. Wish me luck!!!

A Guide to Pinging

Today I decided I would make a guide. Though it took me a while to finally figure out what I would write a guide of, then BOOM it hit me! I decided I would write one about pinging. I know PsiPog has got their own, but I haven't read it and all of this is from personal experience. So I decided I would just do it anyway.
Well first let's start with a definition. What is pinging? It is telepathically sending information to others, whether human or animal, or anything else you amange to send pings to.
Why ping? Well what if you took a trip to the Rockies, got lost, had not way to contact anyone (cellphones, etc.) but knew where (coordinates) but was too injured to travel? Well you would ping your coordinates to your best buddy that just so happened to be apart of teh rescue squad and would come to your rescue!!
Yes this is an EXTREME example, but honestly, its implications are ENDLESS.
So let's get to pinging. First, you must identify the object, person, whatever, you wish to send the ping. Envision the receiver in your head and try to open a connection between you and the receiver. It is usually easier to send a ping to a receiver in which you are very familiar with; a twin sister/brother, best friend (human, animal), etc.
Now envision what you want to ping. It could be an emotion, an image, a video, even a message in english (or any other language you want, usually one the receiver understands though). Keep the ping strong in your mind and make sure you establish it before you try to ping because if not you'll ping absolute jibberish. This happens to me sometimes. If the ping in my mind isn't clear, then it becomes a very ineffective ping. What I mean by ineffective, I mean it's worthless because the receiver has no idea what you're trying to do (if the receiver understands and realizes you are sending them a ping). So make sure you have your ping well established.
Now feel the connection between you and the receiver and make it as strong as you like. Envision yourself sending the ping through the connection. You can imagine it to be a phone line or something along that concept. If you're not a very visual person, then don't envision anything at all. Concentrate on the feelings associated. Feel the connect, the ping leaving you, the receiver getting the ping. The more senses, ways you can incorporate, the better and more profitient you'll be at the skill.
If you have any questions let me know. Tell me if the guide sucks, tell me if it rocks. I wanna try and help the best way I can.
